Epidemiology has become immensely important in today's climate due to COVID-19, being mainly associated with data such as infection rates and death tolls. But it is more than that: Epidemiological research helps us understand disease through a variety of factors, such as its origin, at-risk-groups, severity, infectiousness, lethality, to name only a few.
